Welcome to Kindergarten 2013-2014!

Dear Kindergarten Families,

I am happy to welcome you and your child to H.B. Williams Elementary for the 2013-2014 school year.  We have many wonderful and exciting things to look forward to in the months to ahead, but I first want to tell you a little about myself.

I was born and raised in Hawaii, specifically on the island of Kauai.  Graduating from a small school called Kauai High and Intermediate; I was restless and moved to the “mainland”.  I soon found my way to Tennessee in 1995 and graduated from Tennessee State University in 1999 and was offered a position as a 5th grade teacher at Watt Hardison Elementary in Portland.  In 2004 I transferred to H.B. Williams as a 5th grade teacher and soon after transferred to Kindergarten in 2006.  I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Tennessee in 2009 and in the years to come my desire is to earn my doctorate.  I love and have a passion for Kindergarten and hope I will never have to leave the world of education.

Now, getting back to the “nitty gritty”.  J  In order to ensure clear communication for all, feel free to contact me through notes in your child’s daily binder, by school phone 672-6432, or through e-mail at carlette.frye@sumnerschools.org.  I will try to respond to you as quickly as possible and please remember that I am always willing to discuss ideas and concerns you may have regarding your child.   Let’s be sure to handle small problems so that they don’t become big ones.  J
